In 1998, GENIUS Venture Capital GmbH was established on the initiative of the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is a subsidiary of Technologie- und Gewerbezentrum e.V. Schwerin/Wismar. We fund innovation-driven technology companies in their startup or early growth stage. We are managing venture capital funds on behalf of the Ministry of Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism and Employment of the State Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

We offer more than just equity for young technology companies.

We actively support the development of your company, we advise you on strategic business-related matters and our network is at your service.

We expect you, as a founder, to have a clear vision of your company and a focused strategy to achieve your business goals. You need to have the necessary know-how and sector-specific knowledge as well as the potential to successfully build and lead a company. Furthermore, we expect you to support your own share of the financing by high personal and financial commitment for the company.

We invest, normally together with independent private investors, in technology-orientated micro and small-sized companies in their seed, startup or early growth stage. The headquarters or significant establishment of the company must be located in the State Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

We will get to know each other personally and we examine the sustainability of your business model. In case of a positive result we undertake a careful and comprehensive analysis (due diligence).

The business/company valuation derived hereof will serve as a basis for the following contract negotiations and the draft of the investment agreement.

As part of our investment we support your company as strategic partner and work together with you on the increase of the value of your company.

In coordination with you, we seek to sell our shares in the company within an appropriate period of time (generally 5 to 10 years).

PROPHYTA schließt Produktionserweiterung ab

Malchow/Poel: Die PROPHYTA Biologischer Pflanzenschutz GmbH hat die bauliche Erweiterung ihrer Produktionsanlage in Redenthin/Poel im Mai 2009 planmäßig abgeschlossen. Die Produktionskapazität der Anlage konnte auf 700t Contans® pro Jahr gesteigert und damit mehr als verdreifacht werden. Das Unternehmen hat im Zuge der Erweiterung sieben neue Mitarbeiter eingestellt, bis zum Jahresende sollen zwei weitere Mitarbeiter hinzukommen.

GTA baut große kommerzielle Datenbank für 3D-Karten in Europa auf

Neubrandenburg: Die GTA Geoinformatik GmbH (GTA) in Neubrandenburg erstellt von 900 europäischen Städten 3DKarten und baut damit eine der größten kommerziellen Datenbanken mit dreidimensionalen Stadtplänen auf. Hintergrund ist der wachsende Bedarf der Navigationsindustrie. Etwa die Hälfte aller neuen Geräte sind bereits jetzt 3D-fähig, es fehlt allerdings vielfach an dem entsprechenden modernen 3D-Kartenmaterial. Die Branche erwartet einen Anteil 3D-fähiger Geräte in Höhe von 95 Prozent bis 2012.
